The vaccines against tetanus, diphtheria, polio, and whooping cough (pertussis) are only available as combination vaccines. Periodic booster shots are required for tetanus, diphtheria, and whooping cough: The Federal Office of Public Health recommends booster shots every 20 years between the ages of 15 and 64 and every 10 years from the age of 65. A booster shot against whooping cough is particularly recommended for pregnant women in their second trimester and people who are in regular contact with infants under six months of age. A booster vaccination against polio is only necessary for people who are staying in countries where polio is still present and whose last vaccination was more than 20 years ago (or more than one year ago in certain countries). As we do not always have the vaccines in stock, we ask you to make an appointment.

Cost per dose:

  • Diphtheria–tetanus–pertussis (dTpa): 60.25 CHF
  • Diphtheria–tetanus–poliomyelitis (dT-IPV): 52.95 CHF
  • Diphtheria–tetanus–pertussis–poliomyelitis (dTpa-IPV): 66.30 CHF

Duration: 15 minutes

Information on coverage by health insurance

For people aged 65 and over (or aged 18 and over with certain risk factors according to the Swiss vaccination schedule), we can bill the vaccine through the mandatory health insurance if you have a prescription for the vaccination. Alternatively, you can send the receipt directly to your health insurance provider. In both cases, the co-payment for the vaccination service is CHF 25. The costs for the vaccination service are also covered by some supplementary insurance policies.
