PROTECTION WITH A SINGLE PRICK

Pneumococci (PCV) can cause anything from harmless middle ear infections to pneumonia, life-threatening meningitis, and blood poisoning. The Federal Office of Public Health recommends pneumococcal vaccination for everyone aged 65 and over, as well as people under 65 with certain risk factors. Long-term protection can be achieved with one dose of the vaccine. We vaccinate people aged 16 and over with the pneumococcal vaccine Capvaxive, which covers 21 strains of pneumococcus. As we do not always have the vaccine in stock, we ask you to make an appointment.

Cost per dose: 110.85 CHF

Duration: 15 minutes

Appointment Cancellation Policy

Booked vaccination appointments are generally binding, and the agreed time slot is reserved for you. If you are unable to attend your appointment, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance so that we can rebook the slot. If you cancel your appointment at short notice, we reserve the right to charge a fee of CHF 50. If you fail to cancel your appointment, we will charge you for the cost of the vaccine, as it has been prepared specifically for you and must be disposed of if you do not attend. The latter also applies if you cancel your appointment more than 24 hours in advance, as we order the vaccine specifically for you and cannot reuse it.

Information on coverage by health insurance

For people aged 65 and over (or under 65 years of age with certain risk factors according to the Swiss vaccination schedule), we can bill the vaccine through the mandatory health insurance if you have a prescription for the vaccination. Alternatively, you can send the receipt directly to your health insurance provider. In both cases, the co-payment for the vaccination service is CHF 25. The costs for the vaccination service are also covered by some supplementary insurance policies.

Important: Health insurance will not cover the costs if you have already received a pneumococcal vaccination (which may have covered fewer strains) covered by health insurance after turning 65.
