PROTECTION WITH A SINGLE PRICK

Pneumococci (PCV) can cause anything from harmless middle ear infections to pneumonia, life-threatening meningitis, and blood poisoning. The Federal Office of Public Health recommends pneumococcal vaccination for everyone aged 65 and over, as well as people under 65 with certain risk factors. Long-term protection can be achieved with one dose of the vaccine. We vaccinate people aged 16 and over with the pneumococcal vaccine Prevenar 20. As we do not always have the vaccine in stock, we ask you to make an appointment.

Cost per dose: 105.80 CHF

Duration: 15 minutes

Information on coverage by health insurance

For people aged 65 and over (or under 65 years of age with certain risk factors according to the Swiss vaccination schedule), we can bill the vaccine through the mandatory health insurance if you have a prescription for the vaccination. Alternatively, you can send the receipt directly to your health insurance provider. In both cases, the co-payment for the vaccination service is CHF 25. The costs for the vaccination service are also covered by some supplementary insurance policies.

Important: Cost coverage is no longer possible for persons over 65 years of age if the costs of a previous pneumococcal vaccination at the age of 65 or older were covered by health insurance.
