Tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) is transmitted by ticks and can lead to severe inflammation of the brain and meninges. The whole of Switzerland, with the exception of the canton of Ticino, is considered a TBE risk area. The Federal Office of Public Health recommends that everyone in Switzerland be vaccinated against TBE. At our pharmacy, we offer expert advice and the opportunity to get vaccinated quickly and easily. The basic immunisation consists of three doses, which provide protection for 10 years. The ideal time for TBE vaccination is in winter, so that you are protected at the start of the tick season in spring. However, vaccination is also possible at other times of the year. We administer the vaccination to people aged 16 and over.
